What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Law Paralegal position at Offit Kurman, P.A.?
Offit Kurman, a dynamic and growing law firm, is currently seeking a Family Law Paralegal for our Hackensack, NJ office.
Ideal candidates will possess five or more years of experience as a paralegal supporting New Jersey matrimonial law. Must be detail oriented and able to work independently. Cases will include very contentious divorce matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in family law matters, including high-net-worth divorce, custody, and support cases.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
- Prepare for hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Conduct legal research and assist in trial preparation.
- Client intake, interacting with clients, experts, and witnesses.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of family law paralegal experience
- Experience working on New Jersey cases
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2017 (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Internet research skills, document management systems.
The position will require in person for an initial period,, then hybrid three days in person and two days a week remote thereafter. Salary will be $75,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience.
