Offset Strategic Services (OSS) is seeking a Systems Engineer for development, integration, operational / technical support, and sustainment for the Tactical Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (TUAS) Product Office (PO). The ideal candidate would provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Those solutions would be imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.
This candidate should have a wide understanding and application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the systems engineering field, particularly as applied to software development. Should be able to establish and achieve goals based on stated objectives and provide guidance to employees that result in the consistent accomplishment of those goals and objectives.
This candidate should be able to use general guidance to develop direction and communicate that direction to a team in order to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal.
Responsibilities
- Ensures technical sufficiency of input to trade studies, coordination with stakeholders, and technical input to program documentation, such as contract requirements packages, performance / system specifications, and statements of work.
- Drives use of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and compliance with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles.
- Effectively communicates with TUAS personnel, PM UAS and PEO functionals and staff, prime contractors and suppliers, user representatives, and Army airworthiness personnel.
- Establishes and monitors cost, schedule, and performance of systems engineering activities across the lifecycle.
- Prepares and delivers reports and briefings to management describing program status, issues, analyses, findings, results, recommendations, and conclusions as appropriate.
- Supports Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), working groups, identification of risk, development of courses of action, development of mitigations, and development of recommendations during all phases of the systems engineering process and product life cycle.
- Responsible for project requirements and technical data package content management.
- Responsible for planning and leading project status meetings that include direct interface with the end customer as well as monthly customer reports.
- Responsible for personnel management of the system engineering team.
- Implementation, Modeling and Simulation, and conduct of design / technical reviews across the UAS portfolio.
- Other duties as assigned.
