Responsibilities

The MRI Assistant supports the MRI technologists by assisting with patient preparation, positioning, and ensuring a smooth workflow, while also maintaining equipment and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The Responsibilities include:

  • Patient Care:
  • Assisting with transferring patients to and from the MRI table and other areas.
  • Preparing patients for MRI scans, including explaining procedures and answering questions.
  • Ensuring patient comfort and safety during the procedure.
  • Monitoring patients during the scan.
  • Assisting with patient safety interviews and MRI safety questionnaires.
  • Equipment and Environment:
  • Setting up and cleaning the MRI room and equipment.
  • Maintaining and organizing exam room supplies.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the imaging environment.
  • Assisting with equipment maintenance.
  • Workflow and Communication:
  • Assisting with patient scheduling and flow.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintaining patient records.
  • Assisting with image processing and archiving.

Requirements

  • Technology: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Demonstrated proficiency with EHR is helpful, and NextGen preferred.
  • Attendance/Punctuality: Consistently arrives to work on time.
  • Experience: Previous successful experience in a healthcare clinic/office environment or customer service role preferred, but not required
  • Education: High School Diploma required
