Duties And Responsibilities
- With the assistance of the Production Supervisor the Paste Operator A will lead all production activities in the paste department.
- Know how to properly operate the Paste department machinery and equipment so the processing of peanut butter/paste is finished accurately and to specifications including all product quality parameters. It is nece sensory abilities and color perception for the determination of quality related decision calls.
- Know how to operate grinding equipment, pumps, controllers, and all Paste equipment competently.
- Clearly and concisely direct Paste Operator B, Material Handlers, and Laborers in the Paste department duties to complete necessary tasks which include but are not limited to: adding ingredients, adjusting equipment, and settings for the paste line.
- Open, close, and adjust valves as needed. Monitor gauges, ingredients, temperatures, flow, speed, and overall paste process.
- Become certified and maintain certification to operate a forklift to move product, ingredients, packaging, and other items to maintain the paste department.
- Must be able to read and understand customer specifications and process orders to verify that the finished product meets the specifications for peanut type, grind, ingredient percentages, temperature settings, and packaging,
- Record process data accurately, and legibly, and submit all required documentation in a timely manner to Shift Supervisor.
- Immediately notify Shift Supervisor of any equipment issues or any problems with the quality of the product, and/or ingredients. Notify the Shift Supervisor if other coworkers are not performing the essential functions of their job.
- While performing these duties, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers to handle / feel or pull; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. You will occasionally lift and/or move heavy equipment or parts, 40-50 pounds unassisted, or assist others in moving shifting or positioning heavier objects.
- All employees are directly responsible for the Quality of Olam Edible Nuts products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance to the GMP Rules and the Sanitation, Safety and Food Safety Programs.
- Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to the job, including but not limited to, right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.
- Execute special projects and other job-related activities as directed
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work independently in the absence of supervisor, ensuring that all tasks are completed
