You will work closely with exceptional talent, building on our purpose to “Be the Change for Good Food and a Healthy Future” and contributing to critical work for the business. As a Summer 2025 Intern, you will have opportunities to learn and contribute to what’s on trend in food & beverage while building a robust network, demonstrating leadership skills, and having fun.
The Analytical Chemist Intern will collaborate closely with the Innovation Team and gain exposure to business operations as well as project work to optimize and bring cost savings to the business through optimization of raw materials.
The ideal candidate should be in good standing with an accredited university and have a desire to pursue a career within the food industry. Desire to learn in a fast-paced environment while working with multiple teams across various locations and effective communication will be required for success in this internship.

Position Responsibilities
- Initiates, develops & supports analytical projects across ofi ingredient platforms.
- Understand the chemical analysis requirements of various products and provide analytical chemistry support in analysis and troubleshooting of product and process parameters.
- Comprehension of separation/extraction and concentration techniques.
- Ability to comprehend methodologies in technical journal articles and translate them into working procedures.
- Comply with chemicals safety standards through proper handling of hazardous chemicals, processes, safe laboratory practices and ensure that systems and protocols in place to manage Good Laboratory Practices.
- Responsible for maintaining analytical equipment and instrumentation.
- Comply and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, working toward a bachelor’s, master’s degree, or above in Analytical/Environmental Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Food Science with an emphasis in analytical measurements.
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in chemistry laboratory undertaking hands on analysis using advanced instrumentation such as LC-MS, GC-MS, and other basic analytical techniques. This includes all associated software to control instrumentation such as ChemStation and Mass Hunter.
- A prefer skill is to understand FT-NIR instrumentation and chemometrics.
- Knowledge of extraction techniques such as extraction, distillation, chemical analysis, and statistical methods are critical for the position.
- Knowledge in food chemistry, associated with color, aroma, and physical chemical testing will be added advantage for the position.
- Must articulate strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Applicant must be self-driven, pro-active, with scientific curiosity and take calculated risks on method development, new products, and process development.
- Ability to work with a varied group of food scientists, engineers in a collaborative environment at the innovation center, operations teams at plants globally in a fast-paced environment is critical for this position.
- Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness.
