Position Summary
Reporting to Warehouse leadership the Lift Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to load and unload material, product, bins, and pallets. This position is responsible for moving needed items to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks, production or storage facilities. This position is required to work safely, efficiently and with great attention to detail.
Position Responsibilities
- Locate, pull and transport full or empty bins, pallets of finished product, packaging supplies, and / or equipment to specified areas
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and forklift check on assigned forklift(s)
- Transport raw and processed product to production workstations
- Maintain and update records of inventory and activity logs
- Perform cycle counts to promote and support the integrity of inventory
- Perform goods sampling for Quality Holds as needed
- Pre-stage orders
- Load outbound finished goods in semi-trailers (Live & drop)
- Use inventory scanners to log product in and out of warehouses
- Receive truck deliveries
- Pick orders from inventory using a pick sheet
- Shrink wrap pallets to prepare them for shipping
- Check and count all incoming supplies & materials against manifests
- Monitor packaging supplies & raw materials utilized daily and notify office of any impending shortages
- Complete annual certified forklift safety training
- Supports and practices all established safety programs and policies
- Follow all company standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, safety and environmental considerations
- Maintain the company's commitment to providing quality products and services with an emphasis on Food Safety, legality, and integrity
- Attend and participate in company committees, such as Safety Committee
- Maintain satisfactory attendance to include timeliness
- Demonstrate teamwork
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
The pay for this role in the state of CA is $20.60 / hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
