Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Paste Operator 2 is responsible for assisting Operator 1 (A) in paste production and physically handles the addition of ingredients.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist with the paste production line by starting/shutting down the processing equipment and ensuring the processing of peanut butter/paste is finished accurately and to specifications, including all product quality limitations.
- Open, close, and adjust valves as needed. Assist the Operator 1 (A) with monitoring gauges, ingredients, temperatures, flow, speed, and overall paste process.
- Staging ingredients and packaging required for paste production as directed by Paste Operator 1 (A), Production Supervisor, customer specification, and the process order.
- Adding ingredients for each load as required by customer specifications and process orders.
- This job requires forklift certification.
- Properly record details of ingredient additions legibly and in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and paste department throughout shift.
- Communication between the Operator 1 (A) and 2 (B) is critical to successfully operating the paste department.
- Notify Operator 1 (A)or Shift Supervisor of any equipment issues or any problems with the quality of the product and/or ingredients.
- Responsible for periodically maintaining paste operations while Operator 1 (A) is not in the production area.
- While performing these duties, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers to handle / feel or pull; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. You will occasionally lift and/or move heavy equipment or parts, 40-50 pounds unassisted, or assist others in moving, shifting, or positioning heavier objects.
- All employees are directly responsible for the Quality of ofi Edible Nuts products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance to the GMP Rules and the Sanitation, Safety and Food Safety Programs.
- Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to the job, including but not limited to, right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work independently in the absence of supervisor, ensuring that all tasks are completed.
