Position Summary
Reporting to the Wet Prep Lead, the Receiving Operator will be responsible for tracking, inspecting and recording raw product into the processing plant. The Receiving Operator should act proactively to ensure smooth and effective operations and report issues to leadership immediately.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, read and interpret safety instructions and procedure manuals. Ideal candidate must be willing to accurately enter and track data in a tablet. Must be able to walk and stand up to 10 hours per day, frequently push, pull, and lift up-to 60 pounds. Must be dependable, a team player and have good communication skills and wear PPE specific to position.
Position Responsibilities
- Unload trucks and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. Notify leadership of product quality changes.
- Accurately record weight and other pertinent information into electronic system.
- Unload holding bins to feed onions into the processing facility
- Ensure foreign material is removed conveyor belt prior to entering plant
- Assist in dryer cleanups and daily cleanings
- Frequently monitor machinery to ensure it is operating properly; if not running notify lead/supervisor.
- Monitor, adjust and report any malfunctions with optic sorters.
- Keep tools, hoses and other equipment hung up and stored properly when not in use
- Ensure all areas are kept clean and equipment is cleaned according to the schedule
- Operate the lift truck to empty and store bins
- Assist maintenance personnel as needed
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Lock out/Tag out procedures
- Report any unsafe acts, or issues to management immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
- 3-6 months experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred
- Frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 60 pounds
- Knowledge of quality standards and sanitation procedures
- Obtain forklift certification

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; moderate to extreme cold; moderate heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
