We currently seek a Medical Market Manager to join our Specialty Marketing team department in our division located in Avon, CT, to help support our continued business growth.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic and tactical product, marketing and business plans that will lead to profitable business growth. This includes development and management of Intellectual Property (IP) direction and strategic partnerships as required, to support short and long-term objectives. This position is primarily responsible for determining the needs of the market, and with the knowledge and understanding of the company’s technologies, identify and justify the development of new products. Through these activities, the Medical Market manager will maintain a robust, new product development funnel.

- Accountable for understanding the economic and competitive dynamics of the market.
- Responsible for monitoring industry trends, understanding the needs of our customers as well as their customers.
- Performing market research in key opportunity areas; determining the best channels to market. Understand/Analyze market and technology trends; provide forecasts.
- Identify target customers and assess/understand customers’ and their customers’ needs.
- Understand the competition’s product offering and their strengths and weaknesses.
- Manage market and new product development activities in support of achieving revenue and profit objectives.
- Develop/Write market strategy, product roadmap, and business justification plans.
- Provide commercial guidance for OFS R&D (“Labs”) development work in the Medical market.
- Formulate IP strategy
- Provide strategic direction to engineering and sales teams.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials and pricing strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers as well as OFS/FEC sales, R&D and manufacturing groups.
- Supports and works with Sales, R&D and Manufacturing in planning and executing market and product plans (CFT).
- Coordinates activities with other Market Managers, especially in areas with overlap, such as sensing, and fiber lasers.
- Travel 25 – 40%, alone or with other specialty team members, to visit customers, attend trade shows, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Marketing and/or Engineering.
- Four year’s minimum of related, technical marketing/product management experience.
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, project management, customer and people management skills.
- Demonstrable technical competency, effective communications, relationship and team building proficiencies, marketing, management and negotiating skills as well as meeting our cultural standards.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
