ENTRY LEVEL FIREFIGHTER
Annual Firefighter Salary Range - $54,658.15 - $77,795.60
REQUIRED PREREQUISITES
Entry Level Firefighter applicants must meet the following criteria :
- National Registry or Utah Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT Basic) EMT Advanced or Paramedic Preferred
- National Fire Protection Association Firefighter 1 and 2 (NFPA FF-1 & FF-2)
- Hazardous Materials First Responder -Awareness and Operations (NFPA HazMat Awareness & Operations)
- Education Requirement : High school diploma or GED
Fire certifications must be certified through the Utah Fire Rescue Academy (UFRA) or other certifying agency that provides an International Fire Service Accreditation (IFSAC) or Pro Board reciprocity certification. An IFSAC or Pro Board seal must be present on certificate copies with a legible number. Non IFSAC / Pro Board certifications will not be accepted for reciprocity. Copies of all prerequisite certifications must be attached to the application for the Applicant to be considered. Annual Firefighter Salary Range - $54,658.15 - $77,795.60
Annual Paramedic Salary Range - $71,055.60 - $101,134.28
REQUIRED PREREQUISITES
Lateral Firefighter and Lateral Firefighter / Paramedic applicants must meet the following criteria. Lateral Firefighter and Lateral Firefighter / Paramedic applicants may be eligible, upon hire, to be placed in an equivalent Firefighter / Paramedic compensation step up to 8 years of service for each year of experience at a full-time department.
Fire Certifications must be from either the Utah Fire Rescue Academy (UFRA) or any other certifying agency that provides an International Fire Service Accreditation (IFSAC) reciprocity certification. An IFSAC or Pro Board seal with a legible number must be present on copies of certificates including reciprocity. Copies of all prerequisite certifications must be attached to the application for the Applicant to be considered.
