General Purpose
This position is mainly responsible for doing the fingerprints for background checks for employees and the public. They are the main greeter for the Human Resources office and are expected to welcome and assist patrons. They will provide secretarial and/or clerical assistance, including computer data entry, typing, telephoning, filing, arranging appointments, preparing and checking reports, preparing mailings, and other duties as assigned. Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills are required.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Complete fingerprints for background check for employees and the public.
- Take pictures and print I.D. badges for employees.
- Answer telephones, take messages, greet the general public, and generally assist administrative assistants and administrators.
- Operate office equipment.
- Prepare notes.
- Order supplies and Xerox materials as requested.
- Clean and disinfect computers.
- Contact repair technicians as needed.
- Employment verifications.
- Help organize recruiting, insurance, wellness, and other events as needed.
- Connect with community stakeholders when necessary.
- Organize and upkeep employee personnel files.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of online record keeping using a variety of platforms.
- Assist with the Human Resources main help desk line, emails, and other forms of communication.
- Process payments from the public.
- Assist with the new hire processing of employees as needed, including summer school programs.
- Maintain excellent customer service.
- Assist with website and technology systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Office experience preferred but not required
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required
- Basic computer proficiency is required, including but not limited to Google platforms
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- The job occasionally requires light physical exertion including walking, standing, and other forms of light physical activity.
- Work is carried out in an agreeable environment as generally represented by normal office conditions and little or no unpleasant elements.
- Typically involves contact with students, parents, teachers, principals, assistant principals and/or other staff members.
