Position Summary:
Ogden is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Softball Coach to join our high school program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to help develop the skills of student-athletes, enhance team dynamics, and foster a positive and competitive environment. This position requires a strong commitment to the growth and success of the program both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Coaching: Assist in the planning, development, and execution of daily practices, drills, and in-game strategies.
- Skill Development: Help student-athletes improve their technical skills (e.g., batting, pitching, fielding, base running) and tactical understanding of the game.
- Game Strategy: Assist with game preparation, including scouting opponents, providing insights, and offering real-time coaching during games.
- Team Management: Collaborate with the Head Coach to manage player rosters, practice schedules, and game lineups. Assist with setting goals for individual players and the team.
- Communication: Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful relationship with players, coaches, and parents. Communicate effectively regarding team expectations, performance, and any issues or concerns.
- Discipline & Sportsmanship: Promote good sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork both on and off the field. Serve as a role model for student-athletes.
- Administrative Support: Assist with logistical aspects of the team, including equipment management, travel arrangements, and maintaining compliance with school and district policies.
- Field Maintenance: Assist with dressing and maintaining the game field in preparation and at the conclusion of games, practices, etc.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that players are aware of injury prevention techniques. Support the maintenance of proper physical and mental health for all players.
- Fundraising & Events: Assist in organizing fundraising activities and team events to support the program, if needed.
