Position Overview: Ogden is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant High School Basketball Coach to join our high school boys basketball program. As an integral part of our athletic program, the assistant coach will help support the development of student-athletes in both skill-building and sportsmanship while maintaining a positive, team-oriented environment. This position will work closely with the head coach to provide instruction, develop practice plans, and assist with game-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the basketball program, including practice planning, game preparation, and in-game coaching.
- Provide individualized coaching and mentorship to student-athletes, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Monitor the academic and personal well-being of student-athletes to ensure they are meeting school and team expectations.
- Help with organizing and supervising practices, warm-ups, drills, and conditioning sessions.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach in developing team strategies, analyzing game footage, and improving player performance.
- Assist in managing game-day logistics, including team warm-ups, substitutions, and overall game operations.
- Promote and uphold the values of integrity, respect, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.
- Work with the athletic director to coordinate team schedules, transportation, and other logistics.
- Attend and support team events, including games, practices, and team meetings.
- Support the promotion of the basketball program within the community.
