Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Director of Women’s Services you will be responsible for the operations of Women’s Health and our Labor and Delivery services. We are looking for someone who has a passion for providing excellent patient care and has the ability to lead, coach and mentor our skilled staff in providing excellent care to patients and their families. In this Director role:
- You will have experience with role modeling and sustaining patient and family centered care and direct staff as they care for patients and educate families.
- You ensure high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the units, in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring.
- You will be responsible for staffing; hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff.
- You will foster a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.
- You will develop and communicate a shared vision for the department consistent with the hospitals vision.
- You will be skilled at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of staff performance and work with them on training and development accordingly.
- You will have the ability to effectively control overtime and meet productivity budgets.
- You will develop care coordination policies and procedures to promote improved quality, safety, and efficiency in care.
- You will foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration within and across departments and ensures staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Utah nursing license in good standing.
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 90 days of hire.
- FEMA/NIMS certification within 90 days of hire.
- NRP/STABLE within 90 days or next available class.
- Fetal Heart Monitoring Experience Labor nurse within six months of hire.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a staff nurse in women’s services.
- Minimum 3 years of previous leadership in a clinical role.
