Ogilvy is seeking a highly motivated Account Executive to join our public relations practice with a focus across corporate reputation and public affairs. As an Account Executive, you will learn foundational skills in account management, project coordination, and client relations. You'll contribute to team objectives, ensure client satisfaction, and support Ogilvy's success.

This is a hybrid role to our Sacramento, CA office.
What You'll Do
Your daily responsibilities will include implementing routine communications activities, carrying out campaign execution, and administration to create a flawless experience for your clients. You and your fellow teammates will be the engine of the client's campaign, driving activities with determination and enthusiasm to deliver results that will impact the client's core business issues.
- Be the eyes and ears of your clients' industries, ensuring your account teams are up to speed on sector happenings.
- Work across a portfolio of clients, generating results, bringing forward new ideas and meeting deadlines.
- Assist in implementing media relations strategies and campaign execution.
- Support the team in proactively pitching client stories to journalists and influencers.
- Help arrange and staff media interviews and events.
- Assist in writing content for various purposes, including pitches, press releases, and messaging documents.
- Add value to the team by growing your media knowledge and understanding of what makes a great story.
- Independently coordinate and staff community outreach events by organizing materials, maintaining messaging documents, tracking results and preparing reports.
- Assist senior team members with thought leadership initiatives, such as research, content creation support, or event preparation.
- Assist senior team members in preparing upselling and cross-selling presentations, contributing to research and content development.
- Drive client event strategy, program development, staffing and execution.
- Deliver analytics reports to measure campaign success.
- Consistently execute established relationship-building activities, such as sending regular check-in emails and participating in client calls.
- Effectively communicate project updates, timelines, and deliverables to internal teams and clients, ensuring timely and accurate information sharing and alignment on expectations.
- Follow established processes to resolve common client issues, seeking guidance when necessary.
- Consistently deliver on client expectations, contributing to positive client feedback.
- Manage assigned tasks effectively, demonstrating ownership and accountability.
- Proactively communicate progress and challenges, taking responsibility for meeting deadlines and seeking support when needed to ensure successful outcomes.
- Monitor project timelines, flag potential delays, and proactively communicate updates to client leads and/or project managers.
- Take on coordination tasks within the proposal process, such as scheduling meetings, formatting documents, and managing deadlines.
- Contribute to the development of account plans by gathering data, conducting research, and drafting specific sections under the guidance of senior team members.
- Willingly collaborate with team members and support a positive work environment.
What You'll Need
- 1-2 years of PR experience in a fast-paced environment.
- A true team player, with a willingness to help whenever and wherever needed.
- A good listener, someone who reads people and those in a room well (and adapts their style and response accordingly).
- Strong desire to develop media relations skills by building relationships with news contacts and learning strategic thinking about issues and message development.
- Strong writing, analysis, and research skills, or a desire to develop these skills.
- Insatiable curiosity and a calling to be a lifelong learner.
- A growing ability to identify connections between trends, stories, and brands.
- A passion for consuming newspapers, blogs, and content both personally and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills & ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be based in or within commuting distance of Sacramento, CA.
- Must be able to lift over 30 lbs
