About the Role
Ogilvy is looking for a passionate and collaborative ACD Art / Design Lead with strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, through all phases of the design process. This role will primarily support our continued work with FEMA on the Community Engagement and Risk Communication (CERC) contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a federal agency and to leverage expertise in design principles and information design. This unique program functions on national, regional, and community levels to engage a broad array of national and local stakeholders around the issues of natural disaster mitigation, planning, and capacity building to empower communities to drive resilience.
- Manage and execute project assignments using Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) to design and utilize Microsoft Word and PPT as well to format documents including long-format reports, handbooks and / or guidebooks. Collaborate with other departments to manage workflow and project assignments.
- Concept and direct non-design creative projects when needed, for example : film, experiential, social, web, interactive digital as well as tactical experiences (i.e. games).
- Manage and mentor designers and / or production artists.
- Work directly with functional area managers to resolve issues that impact completion of project objectives.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies in materials development and provide training / coaching where necessary.
- Drive for results and timely decision-making.
- Regularly assess quality of design, layout illustration, creative development, pre-press, proofreading and photography or materials.
- Work with stakeholders to interpret and transform raw data into clear and compelling charts, graphs, icons, graphics and other visual representations to convey information in an easily digestible format.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather necessary information, clarify design requirements, and provide project updates.
- Produce materials while ensuring 508 compliance as well as corporate brand consistency, visual identity, and layout for print or digital output.
- Provide assessment / performance feedback to peers and direct reports (if applicable).
- Review and proofread proposal materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company guidelines.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Stay current with industry / advertising trends and apply them strategically.
- Monitor hours spent on projects to remain on budget.
