About the Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home, Inc.
The Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home is managed by Native American Health Management (NAHM). A three-person Board was appointed to provide oversight of the operation of the facility.
Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home is a State-of-the-art, 60-bed long-term care unit with a 12-bed memory care unit.

Job Description
Job Summary:
Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home seeks a dependable, hardworking Evening Cook to join our dedicated team. We are looking for an individual who is organized, creative, and passionate about cooking, taking pride in the food they prepare and serve. The ideal candidate must be able to perform in a high-pressure, high-turnover environment while maintaining excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This role requires the ability to work independently, follow schedules, and be a strong team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet high standards.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, following all safety and health regulations.
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Monitor food inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies are running low.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after each shift.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and federal holidays as needed.

Qualifications
- Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a professional setting.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Required Documentation:
- Valid Immunization Records.

- Tribal ID (for Native American preference, if applicable).
- Fully completed references section.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work unsupervised while staying on schedule.
