Ogle County Animal Control is seeking a Part-Time Registration Officer to support our team and help keep pets and their owners connected. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, assisting pet owners, and maintaining important records.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 2 PM (plus one Saturday per year for a Microchip Clinic)
- Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour (based on skills and experience)
- Greet and assist pet owners, answer calls, and provide excellent customer service
- Process rabies vaccination registrations and maintain accurate records
- Collect and sort mail, process tag payments, and handle over-the-counter sales
- Assist in tracking lost and found pets to help reunite them with their families
- Prepare and send animal bite reports and maintain related documentation
- Enter microchip data into the database and assist with microchip clinic preparation
- Provide administrative support to the Animal Control Warden and Department Administrator
- Occasionally assist the Warden with field duties as needed
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, and customer service abilities
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite
- Animal Lover: Willing to work with both people and animals in a fast-paced environment
