This position provides strategic direction and leadership for the Enterprise Application Solutions function within GSOC Shared Services IT which supports GSOC, GTC, and OPC, ensuring customer satisfaction with the services provided. Drives the strategic planning, execution, and management of our enterprise applications portfolio. This portfolio includes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Financial / Budget, Work Management, Content Management, Data Analytics, Custom Software Development, among other software application functions that enable the business to operate more efficiently and effectively through the use of technology. Works across business areas to develop and implement an operational plan for the application portfolio that supports the goals and vision of the business who depend on Shared Services IT for technology support.
Ensures staff compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, corporate policies, guidelines and procedures, including but not limited to, SOX, RUS, OSHA, NERC, FERC and ITS requirements. Promotes an environment of compliance and continuous improvement to meet the Corporation's goals and objectives.
Job Duties :
- Provides direction and leadership in the performance of Shared Services IT's enterprise application portfolio which includes monitoring industry trends and research & development as well as developing and implementing policies, systems, standards, and work processes.
- Seeks to understand the customer's business and their strategic initiatives; anticipated their requirements. Provides the Shared Services IT direction for the Enterprise Application solutions required to meet business objectives. Provide strategic direction in planning and delivering all Enterprise Application Solutions initiatives. Employs vision to identify areas where the department can best support the corporation's and customers' business objectives. Ensures the department's ability to manage change based on evolving business needs.
- Inspires others to achieve individual, department, and corporate objectives. Works with senior and executive management across OPC, GTC, and GSOC to understand how Enterprise Application Solutions can help the business achieve their goals. Develops and manages department plans and budgets.
- Responsible for the growth and development of the staff and team culture within the Enterprise Application Solutions group. Ensure that staff within the Enterprise Application Solutions team have strong goals, plans, growth, and accountability. Provides feedback to associates regarding their work, skills, and development. Ensures that the department develops and maintains a culture of service that is responsive to business needs and changes in priorities.
- Represents the Corporation's interests in Enterprise Application Solutions issues both internal and external to the Corporation, including issues and negotiations involving OPC, GTC, GSOC functional departments, Members, contractors, vendors, and other utilities.
- Creates, implements, and maintains an environment of compliance, transparency, accountability, communication, collaboration, service, and continuous improvement across the corporation as it relates to Enterprise Application Solutions.
- Provides strategic support and assistance to Executive Management as requested.
- Provides leadership and support during activation of Major Incidents, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and the Security Incident Response and Recovery Plans.
Required Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field.
Experience : 12 years of experience in Enterprise Applications, Application Development, Data Analytics, Business Analyst, IT, Technology, at least 5 years of which in a management or leadership role.
Equivalent Experience : Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field with at least 18 years of experience with Enterprise Applications, Application Development, Data Analytics, Business Analyst, IT, Technology, at least 10 years of which in a management or leadership role.
Specialized Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to quickly adapt and lead cross-functional / organizational change with confidence. Demonstrated ability to make decisions using a risk framework with incomplete information and a bias toward action. Excellent problem solver coupled with a proven ability to lead groups involved in fast paced, high-pressure environments.
Travel : 10%
Unusual Hours : Provides emergency coverage for technology issues. Responsive to after hours calls, texts, messages, emails, etc. relating to technology and business emergencies.
