Our Raleigh office has an opportunity for a Legal Writer III to join their fast-paced business immigration practice! Working independently and in a team environment, the Legal Writer III will be responsible for conducting research, gathering evidence, building petitions, and drafting correspondence, memoranda, and other documents relevant to the Firm’s immigration practice.

Essential Functions
- Research law, investigate facts, and prepare documents to assist attorneys with immigration matters.
- Possess a strong understanding of or ability to learn immigration law and the firm’s network of clients, cases, and legal teams.
- Translate facts into understandable and persuasive content to be reviewed by officers adjudicating immigration matters.
- Exhibit skill in performing online research, navigating the web, and being a quick study to understand and articulate the nuances of any particular position in science, arts, education, business, or athletics.
- Lead in formulating legal strategies for cases, and execute agreed-upon strategies, including communications with beneficiaries to coordinate petition preparation.
- Work closely with immigration attorneys on special writing projects and perform copy-editing and proofreading.
- Work independently and manage multiple writing projects simultaneously.
- Write skillfully and collaborate with reviewing attorneys to ensure accuracy and efficacy.
- Perform and review non-writing tasks as assigned, including creating/collating exhibits or drafting forms.
- Train new Legal Writers upon request by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Business Immigration and/or Legal Writing or J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills are required.
- Excellent researching, critical thinking, writing, proofreading, editing, reading comprehension, and time-management skills.
- Proficient in multitasking within a dynamic, high-pressure environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and escalating issues when necessary.
