Ohio Gasket and Shim is a Stamping and Fabrication shop that is seeking a Receiving / Material Handler.
The hours for a 1st Shift Position - M-TH 10 hrs 6am - 4:30pm
Job Summary
To assist in receiving and distribution of all raw material, finished and unfinished products in compliance with the prescribed process plan. Responsible for stocking machines with material as needed for production of manufactured parts based on routers.
Essential Functions
- Keep production supplied with raw material
- Move parts/materials to correct staging areas per work order demands
- Receiving of material, product and other items, ensures that all have been stored and/or distributed appropriately
- Log and track material in our ERP computer software system
- Keep production supplied with empty scrap hoppers as necessary
- Monitor scrap weights for verification of price and quantity via scrap vendors
- Collect scrap from current jobs as well as sort for future collection by scrap vendors
- Identifies and verifies quantity, weight and condition of all material received as prescribed by the process plan
- Support other second ops functions
Skills and Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Must possess a current, valid certification/license for lift truck operation
- Must be able to demonstrate the operation of lift truck to meet the responsibilities of the Material Handler
- Must demonstrate good written and communication skills
- Familiarity with Windows OS computers
