Dog Walker/Pet Sitter, Sunday-Wednesday, 7am - 3 pm

Oh My Dog! (Sitters) LLC is hiring a part-time dog walker / pet sitter.

**The Dog/Walker Pet Sitter applicant must be available Sunday-Wednesday. Work hours will generally be between 8am - 3 pm though may start earlier on busy days. There may be occasions you'll be scheduled outside of those hours.

We are looking for reliable, caring, trustworthy, pet care providers who love both pets and people. Must be able to work independently as well as with other team members.

This is a part-time, employee position in a team-based business with varying hours and somewhat flexible schedule. Because our work varies from week to week, hours are not guaranteed and the schedule will vary. We work 365 days/year and holiday work is required.

Pay is hourly plus mileage reimbursement and tips. PTO available after one year’s employment.

This position requires:

• Valid driver’s license, consistent access to a reliable, insured vehicle registered in your name. This job requires a lot of driving, in all weather, including snow.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Smartphone with wireless, text and data plan, with the ability to receive email, take photos and download apps required to perform duties. Must be able to learn new apps and software.
• Ability to work with a variable, often changing schedule, sometimes with short notice additions or cancelations.
• Ability to lift/move 40 pounds (box of cat litter, bucket of water, etc), bend, kneel, crouch, sit on the floor, and go up and down stairs (multiple flights, with dogs). This is a physical job.
• Walking dogs of all breeds, all sizes and varying leash manners, in nearly all weather, rain or shine, heat or cold. Walks are typically 30-45 minutes each with drive time in between. Knowledge of positive reinforcement, force free training methods and Fear Free pet handling a big plus. We most commonly care for dogs, cats, and chickens.
• There will be poop! Must be able to clean up after pets, including urine, feces, vomit, litter boxes, bird and small animal cages.
• Ability to work independently as well as with others.
• Ability to handle stressful and emergency situations.
• Ability to give medication to cats
• Able to, or willing to learn to give insulin injections.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written communication and customer service skills. Communication with clients and coworkers is a vital part of this job.
• Following client and company specified instructions on pet care/walking routines, home, plant and garden care.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple and varying tasks with sometimes complex instructions. Each client/pet we see has different care instructions and personal preferences. Some tasks have many steps that must be completed and care routines change often, sometimes without notice
• Willingness to complete continuing education courses in pet care, handling, training, health, body language, etc.

This is a fun job, but it is also hard work with some physically demanding tasks and an ever-changing schedule. We take our work and commitment to providing excellent pet care very seriously.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily dog walking and pet sitting services, ensuring the safety and well-being of all animals in your care.
• Utilize animal handling skills to manage pets effectively, including using several different types of dog harnesses.
• Communicate with pet owners regarding their animals' needs and any concerns that arise.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets, including heavy lifting of pet supplies as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service, fostering positive relationships with clients.
• Adhere to scheduled hours, working Sunday through Wednesday between 7 am and 3 pm.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.66 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 25 per week
