This role will require close collaboration across the business to inform project planning and ensure that our financial strategy supports overall business goals and growth plans.
Responsibilities:
- Finance Business Partnering: Collaborate cross-functionally as a finance business partner to department leads and program managers. Understand business needs and provide guidance and analysis to support data-driven decision-making and effective resource allocation.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage department-level and program-level budgets, including detailed expense tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure that spending remains aligned with approved budgets and help explain any variances to leadership.
- Financial Operations: Support financial operations, helping to oversee Ohalo's outsourced accounting team. Work closely with accountants to ensure accurate financial records and collaboration on financial operations internally.
- Expense Management Process: Serve as the point of contact for employee expense management and time tracking. Opportunity to shape Ohalo's financial systems, processes, and procedures.
- Strategic Financial Analysis: Support strategic financial initiatives such as ROI (return on investment) analysis on spending, KPI (key performance indicator) reporting, and financial benchmarking. Translate these analyses into actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Prepare well-researched recommendations for key investments and resource allocation decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or another analytical discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), operational finance, or strategic finance in a fast-paced environment. Biotech or Agtech experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerQuery, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Sheets/Docs/Slides.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with technical teams, commercial teams, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated learning agility in mastering new financial systems and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Ramp, etc.).
- Self-motivated and passionate about driving continuous improvement of systems and processes.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is skilled in prioritization.
