Job Summary

The Injection Molding Process Engineer is responsible for development and implementation of injection molding processes to ensure production of high quality products. The ideal candidate will have expert-level experience with injection molding machinery and the ability to develop and implement processes cross-functionally.

Location

Position is full-time, onsite in our Painesville, Ohio manufacturing facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement injection molding processes to ensure the highest quality products are produced.
• Act as subject matter expert for Arburg and Cincinnati Machines.
• Develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance program.
• Develop mold programs database mainly for glass filled, mineral filled thermoplastics.
• Work with mold design engineering team and create mold designs to suit our machinery.
• Work on continuous improvement programs to improve efficiency of production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve molding process issues; set up parameters on the machines and maintain a database.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product design and manufacturing processes are aligned.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Train and mentor production personnel on molding processes.
• Continuously improve molding processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor s degree in Plastics, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Expert-level proficiency with molding equipment and processes, specifically Arburg and Cincinnati Machines.
• Familiarity with Screwburg Machines a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience developing molding processes.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) required.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks preferred.
• Proven experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to interact collaboratively and professionally with all company functions including Engineering, Quality, and Production.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
• Proven ability to provide actionable feedback to help others improve and reach their goals.
