Job Summary
The Injection Molding Process Engineer is responsible for development and implementation of injection molding processes to ensure production of high quality products. The ideal candidate will have expert-level experience with injection molding machinery and the ability to develop and implement processes cross-functionally.
Location
Position is full-time, onsite in our Painesville, Ohio manufacturing facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement injection molding processes to ensure the highest quality products are produced.
- Act as subject matter expert for Arburg and Cincinnati Machines.
- Develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance program.
- Develop mold programs database mainly for glass filled, mineral filled thermoplastics.
- Work with mold design engineering team and create mold designs to suit our machinery.
- Work on continuous improvement programs to improve efficiency of production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve molding process issues; set up parameters on the machines and maintain a database.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product design and manufacturing processes are aligned.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Train and mentor production personnel on molding processes.
- Continuously improve molding processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Plastics, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
- Expert-level proficiency with molding equipment and processes, specifically Arburg and Cincinnati Machines.
- Familiarity with Screwburg Machines a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing molding processes.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) required.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks preferred.
- Proven experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to interact collaboratively and professionally with all company functions including Engineering, Quality, and Production.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
- Proven ability to provide actionable feedback to help others improve and reach their goals.
