What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Associate position at Ohio Billing, Inc?
Summary:
The Collections Associate works with providers, hospitals, insurance companies, state & federal agencies and collection agencies to obtain information necessary to accurately and efficiently handle billing claims, processing changeovers, finding information and being the last one to handle the claim before it goes to a collection agency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform all duties and tasks faithfully, industriously, and to the best of your ability
- Always adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Confidently run Patient Collection Reports for multiple providers
- A variety of Medicaid and Medicare related responsibilities and tasks
- Work directly with insurance companies for a variety of tasks
- Direct communication with patients and providers
- Claim processing
- Knowledge and understanding of the billing schedules
- Maintains excellent communication relationships with all industry partners. Regular direct communication required
- Be cross trained for additional duties
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Understanding of medical terminology is helpful, but not required
- Familiarity with insurance companies and the accounts receivable process
- Quick learner that can adapt to change
- Experience operating printers, scanners, and fax machines
- Detailed and thorough
- Ability to efficiently multi-task without becoming overwhelmed
- Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and general office skills
- Dependable, reliable, trustworthy
- Enter data and make operational decisions
- Excellent interpersonal skills

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
