The Trainer will provide students with hands-on “technical training” for Caterpillar heavy equipment for students in the classroom and shop environments in our Product Support departments. A willingness to study and learn new skills and technical information related to the job is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College degree and/or continuing education in a technical field preferred.
- Five years of experience in heavy equipment service and repair is required.
- Teaching or training in a similar industry, community college, vocational-technical school, private technical school, or military is preferred.
- Previous formal instructor certification (any discipline) and/or Caterpillar instructor certification are a plus.
- Should have technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, or experience with heavy equipment.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to teach material in classroom and shop settings.
- Must be organized, self-motivated, energetic, and able to work without direct supervision.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible. Must live or be willing to relocate to work from the Cleveland Power Systems location. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
