Role Overview:
Contracted by ODCY, the Ohio Children’s Alliance is responsible for identifying and recruiting the type of resource (kinship and foster care) and adoptive families needed regionally and across the state to meet the needs of children in public children service agency and Title IV-E court custody. This program is one of our state’s key strategies to address the statewide shortage of available foster parents, as well as families willing to adopt children from foster care.
The Program Coordinator, Foster Home Recruitment will work within their currently assigned service delivery area (SDA), and within those communities, to identify, generate and strengthen marketing and awareness opportunities. This position plays a key role in ensuring all public and private agencies and key stakeholders have the resources, tools and support necessary to significantly impact all program deliverables.
Under direction from the Program Manager, Child Welfare, the Program Coordinator, Foster Home Recruitment will also oversee the KPI tracking and conduct regular check-ins with the Regional Marketing Coordinators (up to 10 individuals). This role is to be a support for all of the Regional Team, while compiling reports and updates for the Program Manager.
A community-focused and innovative thinker, the ideal candidate also possesses experience with resource family recruitment, and lead generation strategies.
Full-time position.
Remote work, with occasional evenings and weekends and willingness to travel approximately 500 miles per month. Occasional in-person meetings in Columbus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Oversight 50%
- Meet regularly with the Regional Marketing Coordinators to provide regular direction, problem solving, and goal tracking
- Meticulously track individual and team key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Report back to the Program Manager on team performance
- Plan quarterly in-person engagement opportunities for the team, organize regular virtual meetings, and hold engagement during those meetings
- Provide performance feedback and improvement plans as necessary
- Assist with onboarding new team members as necessary
- Community Engagement in the SDA 40%
- Identify new opportunities for community outreach, generating traffic to the It Takes Heart site and inquiries
- Communicate campaign efforts to the Resource and Referral Hubs
- Utilize target market data to identify quality leads and pathways to reach leads
- Educate and inform of the support offered by Resource and Referral Hubs, Adopt America Network, and agencies
- Facilitate presentations to expand program awareness and generate inquiries
- Create and maintain calendar of events within SDA; attend as requested/needed and work together with the Resource and Referral Hubs to cover events
- Identify non-traditional and community specific opportunities to drive awareness and traffic to campaign goals; when necessary, attend/facilitate
- Be an ambassador for the mission, spearheading outreach within the local communities
- Public and Private Foster Care Agency Collaboration 5%
- Identify and maintain agency contact for communicating recruitment and engagement efforts, including the contact information for the statewide inquiry form
- Create plan to continually build relationships with all public and private agencies and key community members
- Provide agencies with varying levels of support, resources and tools to ensure marketing and recruitment and awareness efforts are successful
- Ensure program updates are effectively communicated and implemented
- Maintain a calendar of agency activities to limit duplication of work.
- Implementation and Maintenance of Marketing and Recruitment Strategies 5%
- Provide input into new policies/procedures, community trends, feedback and various reporting requirements
- Assist in the coordination of regional meetings and events
- Monitor agency and regional performance toward established benchmarks – adhering to action plans
- Upon hire, this position will be primarily focused on program coordination for the Foster Home Recruitment program. In addition, this position may also fill program coordination needs for the growing portfolio of programs that advance the mission of the Ohio Children's Alliance.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must currently be employed as a Regional Marketing Coordinator
- Previous supervision experience highly preferred
- A community-oriented professional with experience in sales or recruitment
- Lived experience in the foster care system is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required
- Proven self-starter with the ability to manage time and work priorities independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
- High-detail orientation and accurate data tracking
- Requires frequent evenings and weekends
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Word & Excel); ability to quickly gain proficiency using basic software and web-based services as needed
