Ohio Citizen Action Education Fund is seeking a Rural Projects Coordinator to support our deep canvassing and community organizing efforts for utility-scale solar projects across Central Ohio and potentially statewide. This role will assist the Rural Projects Manager by tracking and analyzing canvassing data, supporting turf-map creation, coordinating with our field team on paid canvasser progress, and helping with volunteer recruitment and training. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to deep canvassing principles.
This position requires extensive travel across multiple counties in Ohio, engaging with communities on the ground. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
- Assist with deep canvassing efforts, including training and supporting volunteers.
- Help recruit, organize, and retain volunteers to build leadership and campaign capacity.
- Track, analyze, and report on canvassing data using CallHub, VAN, and Google Sheets.
- Develop and update turf maps for targeted canvassing efforts.
- Support field team communication regarding paid canvasser progress and needs.
- Write and send promotional emails via NationBuilder to engage supporters.
- Assist in organizing community meetings, presentations, and outreach events.
- Help maintain and engage with the campaign’s Facebook page.
- Ensure accurate and consistent data entry and reporting.
- Experience with CallHub, VAN, and Google Sheets ideal.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in community organizing, canvassing, or related fields.
- Ability to analyze data and use mapping tools for targeted outreach.
- Nonjudgmental, open-minded individual with basic deep canvassing skills and a commitment to listening and meaningful conversations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Located in the Central Ohio area.
- Willing to complete a background check.
Salary : $37,000 - $45,000
