Medical Instrument Preparation Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Sterilization Technician to join our team at Ohio Dental Implants & Oral Surgery. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients by processing and sterilizing all instruments for daily use.

Responsibilities:

1. Collects used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
2. Cleans and manually sanitizes supplies to ensure they are free from contaminants.
3. Operates and maintains decontamination equipment, including autoclaves and washer disinfectors.
4. Prepares and packages decontaminated supplies for sterilization, ensuring they are properly wrapped and labeled.
5. Examines supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized before sterilization.
6. Routinely tests and reports any issues or problems with sterilization equipment.
7. Sterilizes, preps, wraps, and organizes equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.
8. Delivers all necessary equipment and instruments for procedures, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
9. Maintains accurate records of sterilization procedures, items processed, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.
10. Monitors supply levels and orders replacements as needed.

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• One year of relevant experience is preferred, with certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution being an added advantage.
