What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Support Liaison (Northwest Region) position at Ohio Department of Children and Youth?
This position will serve the Northwest Region which includes the counties of Allen, Auglaize, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Huron, Logan, Lucas, Marion, Mercer, Morrow, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood, Wyandot. This position will serve these Northwest counties, so the applicant MUST reside within one of the aforementioned counties.
Under administrative direction, serves as a Community Support Liaison, responsible for developing, planning, and implementing program policy and activities to assist local systems in ensuring children and youth in Ohio are provided services and supports to meet their identified needs and goals (i.e. children who are placed in congregate care settings receive adequate treatment and transition out of congregate care when safe and appropriate). Collaborates with partners involved in the statewide implementation of service coordination for multi-system youth to achieve goals; reviews cases; attends case consultations; participates in system decision sessions as a subject matter expert; provides on-site technical assistance and delivers presentations to local partners and stakeholders; engages necessary state partners to identify barriers and solutions; develops and amends monitoring tools and other program oversight aids to support best practice; provides professional trainings to agency and county staff stakeholders; assists in cross-training of other regional coordinators; partners with state agencies on shared projects.
Analyzes and evaluates the program, procedures, and policies related to all placement work; serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on placement and corresponding micro and macro level child and family needs.
Develops and coordinates public relations for program by serving as a liaison between state and community organizations while building relationships among systems and agencies who serve family and children; researches and responds to inquiries and complaints; furnishes information and explains program to public, legislators, and news media; writes position papers and reports (e. g., semi-annual and annual state reports).
Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., attends and participates in staff meetings; travels to attend meetings, conferences, and trainings; attends meetings and conferences in place of leadership, as needed; operates personal computer to produce correspondence, reports, and other documents; maintains logs, records, and files).

Hybrid Work Details
Subject to DCYs teleworking policy and an approved teleworking agreement, this position is eligible to work from a remote location on a hybrid basis. The selected applicant may be required to complete initial trainings prior to being eligible to telework. All requests to telework are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by DCY’s Deputy Director of Human Resources and management, subject to the conditions outlined in the agency policy and teleworking agreement.
