What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Ohio Department of Children and Youth?
Under general supervision, examines and/or analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards: reviews and maintains State Fiscal Year (SFY) and Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) local expenditure line items in Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS) to ensure proper reporting; researches and analyzes OAKS interface errors; maintains OAKS reporting chartfield and agency control coding; updates OAKS speed charts with purchase order number; monitors purchase order balances to ensure appropriate level of funding available; enter requisitions into OhioBuys; collects and analyzes data and responds to basic data requests from internal and external sources.
Cross trains with Budget Analysts and serves as back-up as requested by supervisor.
Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., participates in meetings, conferences, and work groups; travels to attend trainings; operates personal computer to produce correspondence, reports, and other documents; maintains logs, records, and files).
30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.

Hybrid Work Details
Subject to DCYs teleworking policy and an approved teleworking agreement, this position is eligible to work from a remote location on a hybrid basis. The selected applicant may be required to complete initial trainings prior to being eligible to telework. All requests to telework are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by DCY’s Deputy Director of Human Resources and management, subject to the conditions outlined in the agency policy and teleworking agreement.

- Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
