What you'll do at OhioMHAS :
OhioMHAS Information Services is the technology arm of the third largest cabinet level agency in the state of Ohio. We support more than 3,200 employees within six regional inpatient behavioral health hospitals, Ohio Pharmacy Services, and Central Office. We develop and support technology for several critical business solutions used by the agency as well as by county and local behavioral health care providers across the state. This position analyzes business needs, identifies tech solutions, and designs a comprehensive plan for implementation. They collaborate closely with various individuals such as developers, project managers, and analysts to ensure effective implementation of the solution, achieving the stakeholder's objectives. Additional duties include :
- Defining and documenting the overall solution, utilizing industry-recognized patterns and best practices.
- Working together with stakeholders to comprehend their needs and requirements.
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies, patterns, and platforms for the solution.
- Developing and maintaining architectural standards and best practices under the guidance of the agency architectural roadmap.
- Ensuring that solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Working as a skilled hands-on .NET developer capable of deep collaboration with developers and QA to implement coding and testing artifacts with high quality and velocity.
- Stays up to date with the current and emerging technologies, tooling, and patterns along with proposing changes where needed.
- Providing technical guidance and support to developers and QA.
- Promote the use of patterns (when and why) and develop reference implements for commonly used patterns (how).
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues related to the solution.
This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA / AFSCME bargaining unit (union) , with a pay range of 36 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule . Normal working hours are 1 st shift (8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm). This position is located within our Office of Information Services, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 33rd floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and / or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
The OhioMHAS supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require a minimum of 2 days of attendance in the office for training, meetings and other operational needs. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.
