What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Development Specialist 2 - UI/UX Designer position at Ohio Department of Commerce?
Under general direction, collaborates with DCY cross-functional teams (product managers, developers, and other stakeholders) to define and implement innovative design solutions; works closely with product managers, business analysts, developers, engineers and other stakeholders to translate design concepts into functional products; conducts user research, usability testing, and analyzes user feedback to inform design decisions; develops sitemaps, user flows, UI mockups, storyboards, logical navigation structures for digital products and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile applications; creates low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts and gathers feedback; develops visual elements like color schemes, typography, layout, and iconography consistent with DCY's standards and brand identity (fonts, colors, images, sketches, tables, etc.) to ensure a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing interface; designs interactive elements like buttons, search fields, menus, tabs, widgets, forms, and animations to create intuitive user interactions; ensures consistency across all platforms and design assets, maintaining a cohesive look and feel; works on design iterations and updates and continuously refines designs based on user feedback and testing results.
Identifies and troubleshoots UX problems; ensures designs are accessible to users with disabilities by adhering to accessibility guidelines; stays up to date with the latest UI / UX trends, techniques, and technologies; supports the integrated project team to ensure smooth implementation of designs; prepares and presents rough drafts and design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and effectively communicate design decisions.

Qualifications
48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following : designing and performing systems analysis, developing and / or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and / or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
