What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher 1 (Career-Tech - Masonry) position at Ohio Department of Commerce?
What You'll Do :
This position plans, organizes and instructs Masonry Career Technical (vocational) program in accordance with approved course of study.
- Provides instruction in masonry (e.g., repair of walls & doorways, use of tools, how to lay brick & stone, mixing mortar)
- Assesses educational needs of inmates
- Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training.
- Provides instruction & individual assistance; administers, scores & interprets examinations & proficiency indicators
- Maintains discipline & / or security
- Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior & / or personal problems.
- Attends meetings as required
- Prepares required records & reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
- Inventories & orders supplies & materials needed
- Researches, selects & recommends new teaching materials.
- Attends in-service training sessions & workshops for professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Must meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate / License appropriate for career-tech - masonry & grade level as assigned
