What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Clinic Aides position at Ohio Department of Education?
JOB DESCRIPTION : Substitute positions for regular Clinic Aides at the Elementary Buildings (K-4) during periods of absences.
- Administer first aid to students and staff as needed, and / or direct the administration of first aid by other staff member.
- Oversee the appropriate administration of medications at school, and the associated record keeping.
- Examine students upon request and make recommendations to parents.
- Maintain communication and a working relationship with the Union County Health Department.
- Use sound judgment, tact and diplomacy when interacting with students, parents and the community, and maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain.QUALIFICATIONS :
- Experience as a certified Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or other suitable medical training.
- Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and / orBoard of Education may find appropriate.
- Must be available to work on short notice.
