What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing, observing, and interpreting data, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure that the local implementation of Ohio’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is in compliance with federal regulations and state laws.
Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver’s license

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 12. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $30.37 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.

What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing, observing, and interpreting data, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure that the local implementation of Ohio’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is in compliance with federal regulations and state laws.
- Conducts holistic Management Evaluation reviews of County Departments of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) to monitor the implementation of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) at the local level in Ohio.
- Reviews a specified number of SNAP cases for payment accuracy and timeliness and enters all findings into a database.
- Interviews CDJFS management and line staff responsible for determining eligibility for SNAP, conducting E&T assessments, screening SNAP applications, training CDJFS staff, reviewing internal SNAP cases, and implementing the National Voter Rights Act rules.
- Interviews CDJFS management and line staff responsible for completing assessments for the SNAP Employment & Training program.
- Observes eligibility interviews and assessments completed by CDJFS staff.
- Researches and analyzes various reports and websites to determine compliance with federal or state performance standards.
- Schedules and facilitates various meetings with CDJFS managers, including executive directors.
- Develops charts, graphs, and reports to communicate the results of the ME Reviews, both while in progress and when complete.
- Tracks all completed tasks and outcomes of reviews.
- Managing multiple, time sensitive assignments at once.
- Staying current with rapidly changing federal regulations and state laws.
- Knowledge of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) policies and procedures.
- Strong oral communication skills, including diplomacy, patience, friendliness, and confidence (facilitating meetings, sharing complex information verbally, group presentations, coaching, and consulting, etc.).
- Strong writing skills using plain language (correspondence, emails, reports, charts, etc.).
- Be able to gather and analyze data, arrive at valid conclusions, and then develop and communicate solutions in a helpful way.
- Time management.
- Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience accessing case information in the Ohio Benefits (OB) eligibility system.
