- Serves as lead worker over lower level Activity Therapists & other personnel assigned to assist with the implementation of planned recreational activities.
- Organizes & conducts Activity Therapy Treatment Programs according to standards of care established for population served (E.g., adult, geriatric, acute, intermediate, deaf and/or hard of hearing, chronic, forensic, MI/MR, dual diagnosis).
- Interviews patients & completes Activity Therapy Assessment; develops & implements individualized program based on patient’s needs, abilities & interests; develops & implements group treatment program based on commonality of patients' needs.
- Plans & coordinates special events & holiday programs; plans & implements general recreational and entertainment activities (e.g., fresh air breaks, escorts/assists patients at open lounges, recreational group activities, determines & obtains type/amount of supplies/equipment needed for activities, etc.).
- Responsible for developing the monthly AT schedule of activities for all units; will communicate with supervisor any unusual planned activities (e.g., those near water, outside of Athens County, occurring at times outside of regularly scheduled trips, etc.).
- Completes initial assessment per requirements; documents patients’ response to treatment & weekly progress in Interdisciplinary progress notes.
- Completes incident reports as needed; develops & posts patients' monthly calendar; documents interventions on ITP and includes patient responses to treatment.
- Attends & participates in in-service training sessions & workshops as required/approved (e.g., Crisis Intervention, CPR, Fire Safety, etc.) & assists other staff/areas as needed.
- Continuously and proactively assesses environmental situations, organization policies and procedures, and staff, patient and visitor behavior for situations that could pose risks to patients, staff, or visitors, and reports them appropriately.

- Must be able to complete a 4 week (business days Monday-Friday) full time orientation
- May work weekends and holidays; may be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior
- Training and development required to remain in the classification after employment
