Recovery Services Correctional Program Coordinators (Counselors) with a MAT focus use evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Engagement (ME) skills in treatment of offenders who need medication assisted treatment and programming.

What You’ll Do At OhioMHAS
Duties of the Correctional Program Coordinator include:

Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction's training at the Corrections Training Academy located in Orient, OH. This training is approximately 4 weeks in length.
This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 11 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. This position is located within ODRC institution at Grafton Correctional Institution.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

What You’ll Do At OhioMHAS
Duties of the Correctional Program Coordinator include:
- At assigned correctional institutions, provide coordination of medication assisted orientation, treatment, counseling, and guidance for eligible participants
- Coordinate ongoing collaboration for participants with needed partners (MHAS Recovery Services, DRC Medical and Mental Health, contracted Opiate Treatment Providers, Community Linkage, etc.) to ensure provision of and continuity of services
- Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge planning with MAT participants in a coordinated approach and documented in electronic health record
- Engage and offer clients assistance with Medication-Assisted Treatment to foster and strengthen recovery
- Monitor and evaluate progress of the participants eligible for MAT in the substance use programs
- Provide technical assistance for continuing care planning
- Schedule is Monday-Friday, however hours will vary
- Provide technical assistance and training to staff as required

- Licensed Physician by State of Ohio Medical Board.
