What You Will Do…
- Oversee/direct daily operation of the Put-in-Bay Aquatic Visitor Center located on South Bass Island (Put-in-Bay Township); Act as Division liaison within the local community on educational outreach opportunities and special events held at the facility
- Manage and train personnel (FT/PT/volunteers) providing educational fishing experiences, tours and special programming at the facility
- Oversee maintenance of facility (outdoor/indoor), including custodial, landscaping, snow removal, minor repairs, daily animal care, cleaning enclosures and aquaria, water quality monitoring as necessary
- Develop and conduct special programs, exhibits and displays on native wildlife with a focus on Lake Erie aquatic education
- Assist in preparing and managing budgets, operation plans and purchasing contracts; produces activity reports as needed (daily, weekly, monthly, annual)
- Starting hourly pay of $28.08 hr with multiple pay increases over your first 3.5 years of service, with an end salary of $35.07/hr.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in journalism or communication AND 6 mos. exp. in public multi-media techniques & relations in field of journalism or communication AND valid driver's license.
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Public Information Specialist, 64420 AND valid driver's license.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
