- Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education
- Provides instruction on music
- Assesses educational needs of incarcerated people
- Develop lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
- Provides instruction and individual assistance
- Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
- Maintains discipline and/or security
- Counsel’s students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problem
- Attend meetings as required
- Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
- Inventories and orders supplies, and materials needed
- Research, selects and recommends new teaching materials
- Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
