Work daily with ODOT Designers, Project Managers, Contracts Manager and Consultants, Real Estate personnel, Construction personnel, Surveyors, Utility Coordinators, Environmental personnel, and others to provide Engineering and Project Management expertise in Transportation Projects. The typical position duties include the following:
- Design project management
- Consultant contract project management
- Design of transportation projects
- Plan preparation via MicroStation and Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- Perform reviews of transportation project plans and reports
- Prepare project estimates
- Prepare project addenda and answers to Prebid questions
- Perform review of construction project change orders
- Collaboration with local government officials
- Supervision and/or guidance of lower-level engineers and technicians
- Sign plans and/or other engineering documents as registered professional engineer
- Bridge design or roundabout design experience a plus
- Design Build project experience a plus
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Good with people; can talk with anyone
- Self-motivated
- Good attitude
- Willingness to learn new things
- Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
