Position Title: Director of Patriots Program

Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Part-Time

Position Summary:
The Director of Patriots Program is responsible for connecting and advocating for veteran, military and ROTC cadets from the point of inquiry through graduation and beyond.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inform veterans and service members still serving actively of their educational benefits from the federal and state governments
- Recruit veterans and service members to enroll at Ohio Dominican University utilizing their earned education benefits
- Assist Patriots Program participants in succeeding in the classroom and make a seamless transition from soldier to scholar. This is accomplished through close coordination with existing academic and behavioral programs at ODU and the Veterans Administration and being available and credible to our veteran students
- Serve as a bridge between the ODU community and the national security and military communities and represent the ODU military brand to the central Ohio area
- Identify post-graduation military service options and opportunities to the ODU student body through ROTC, direct commissioning or enlistment options. Provide oversight to Army and Air Force ROTC
- Deliver classroom lectures on military/national security issues as requested by the faculty
- Participate on committees as requested/directed
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred. At least two years' experience working in a University environment serving military veterans (prospective students, current students and/or alumni) and ROTC cadets. Ohio Dominican graduated preferred. The ability to manage, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks. The successful candidate will have a strong set of ethics and values compatible with and supportive of Ohio Dominican's mission as a culturally diverse, Catholic, Dominican university. An understanding of importance of student learning outcomes and assessment are additional assets in this position. Proficiency with MS office, Word, and Excel is also important.
