The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest data analytics specialist in the Division of Air Pollution Control (DAPC), working at our central office in Columbus.

As Ohio EPA’s data analytics specialist, you’ll be coordinating the Division of Air Pollution Control’s air monitoring data retrieval systems and programmatic system administration of the AirVision software application. You’ll coordinate the acquisition, evaluation, and processing of ambient air data using AirVision, including troubleshooting problems experienced by users to ensure data flow meets federal regulations.
You’ll assist the monitoring staff in the installation of air monitoring equipment and ensuring all the air monitoring equipment communicates with AirVision. You’ll work with ITS on issues that arise with this system, ensuring software functionality.
Additionally, you’ll prepare reports on monitor performance, monitoring data comparisons, and air quality statistics, including the writing of an analysis of the data presented and producing various graphs and maps. You’ll proactively communicate with AirVision users when necessary to inform them of system availability and updates.

- Coordinate duties associated with the AirVision software application.
- Coordinate maintaining any system administrator tables in the software that ensures accurate data transfers, functionality, and tracking in the system.
- Collaborate with ITS and users of the AirVision system for issues that arise regarding AirVision software functionality.
- Prepare air monitoring data summaries using Tableu, R, SQL, or other data analytics tools to synthesize large data sets.
- Prepare reports on monitor performance, monitoring data comparisons, and air quality statistics.

- Or completion of associate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 30 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 24 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
- Or completion of graduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 12 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
- Or 36 mos. exp as a Data Analytics Associate, 66930.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
