The Robot Welder Operator is responsible for operating, directing, and overseeing the manufacturing process of grating to ensure proper spacing and piece size as defined by job instructions. This role is fast-paced and requires working as part of a team to coordinate tasks efficiently. The operator may need to obtain materials as required. Work is reviewed by a supervisor to ensure quality and accuracy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate and adjust the robotic welder, ensuring proper setup and programming as needed.
Maintain and follow all company safety rules and procedures, creating a safe workplace for oneself and teammates.
Load materials into fixtures, unload grating panels/welded products, and perform necessary hand welding or grinding to meet quality and productivity expectations.
Assemble work and assist production lines, including setups and changeovers.
Communicate effectively with team members, especially during shift changes, to ensure smooth operations.
Follow all operating procedures, process instructions, and safety protocols.
Accurately complete required paperwork, such as time cards, job travelers, and material/bundle tags.
Keep work areas clean and organized, contributing to a safe and efficient environment.
Identify and report quality issues immediately to supervision.
Assist with other duties and cross-train as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic welding knowledge is beneficial; prior MIG welding experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret standard and metric measurements.
Capable of adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying/dividing by 10s and 100s without a calculator.
Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and various hand/power tools.
Two or more years of manufacturing experience in steel or aluminum production preferred.
Familiarity with welding symbols, fillet weld gauges, and visual weld inspection techniques.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Perform repetitive movements, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and grasping materials for extended periods.
Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds, using proper lifting techniques and assistance as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work primarily on the production floor, requiring adherence to PPE and safety protocols.
Regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and machine hazards, requiring awareness and compliance with safety standards.
