What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Mental Health Assessor position at Ohio Guidestone?

OhioGuidestone is seeking Mental Health Assessors to be the first point of contact for OhioGuidestone clients. Assessors work on an as needed basis providing assessments for during hours that are set by you! The Mental Health Assessor will complete assessments and paperwork within 48 hours, complete psychosocial history, and mental health assessment to obtain a mental health diagnosis. Essential Functions:
- Evaluate current client and family functioning.
- Explain the mental health services of OhioGuidestone and engage family, youth, and other pertinent agencies.
- Maintain current knowledge of DSM-5 diagnoses and recommends treatment options and level of care.
- The diagnostic assessor completes diagnostic evaluations and formulates a diagnosis according to the DSM-5 criteria.
- The psychological assessor/licensed psychologist utilize psychometric instruments to gain further insight into client and family functioning.
- Maintains knowledge of current psychological measures/ instruments.
- Obtains documents, information, and signatures from parents and clients that are necessary to complete assessments and evaluations.
- Summarize the major treatment issues and expected outcomes.
- Complete all reports within the necessary time frame.
- Recommends case disposition to OhioGuidestone programs.
- Meets with clients at all OhioGuidestone locations or travels to client's homes to complete assessments.
- Attends all required staff training and staff meetings.
- Maintains reliable attendance.
- Exhibits positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
- Demonstrates positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
Performance/Physical Requirements:
- Involves extensive driving. A valid driver's license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance are required
- English reading and writing skills required
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality required
- Works flexible hours
- Requires typing and computer competency, including Windows applications for typing case notes and other paper work
Qualifications:
- Minimum educational level for Diagnostic Assessor is a Master's degree and Ohio LSW or LPC. LISW or LPCC is preferred.
- Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screening.
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
