Position: Interpretive Supervisor
Status: Full time, Permanent
Location: Adena Mansion & Gardens
Salary: $24 per hour

Summary:
Responsible for developing and executing daily educational and special programming at the Adena Mansion & Gardens. Trains and supervises interpretive staff and volunteers. Reports to the site manager. Full-time, year-round position averages 35 hrs/wk.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement daily site interpretation, special interpretive programs, and other museum educational programs.
- Lead site interpretive planning with support from OHC Historic Sites Area leadership, and lead implementation of the plan.
- Explore and capitalize on interpretive synergies with other OHC sites and local partners.
- Assist in the training of new interpretive team members and volunteers.
- Create a positive and fun environment for visitors of all ages and backgrounds by training staff and volunteers to be hospitable, approachable and engaging, encouraging participation in impromptu and planned interactions that promote curiosity and relevance.
- Responsible for school group outreach, managing and executing field trip program, and ensuring smooth school group orientation and logistics.
- Ensure maintenance, care, and appropriateness of museum exhibits through coordination with Exhibits, Collections, and Curatorial teams.
- Coordinate with the entire site leadership team to ensure the planning and implementation of emergency procedures necessary to ensure safety of visitors, colleagues, and the site.
- Champion and promote mission and values of the organization. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
- Associate degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as history or museum interpretation, PLUS seven to ten years relevant working experience OR bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field PLUS five to seven years relevant working experience.
- Prior experience supervising staff and/or volunteers.

- Expert at communicating with staff and the public, both orally and in writing
- Excellent presentation skills
- Proven experience in taking a program and/or project from concept to completion
- Able to use project management processes
- Experience leading a team of peers
- Able to create evaluations and use evaluation data for program improvement
- Proficiency in various office software suites and virtual platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft 365.
