Position: Maintenance Supervisor
Status: Full time, permanent
Location: Adena Mansion & Gardens
Salary: $25 per hour

Summary:
Serve as a mindful and proactive leader in caring for the grounds, buildings, and other infrastructure at the Adena Mansion & Gardens. Responsible for developing and executing a buildings and grounds maintenance and repair plan that prioritizes staff and visitor safety and aligns with the vision set forth in the site's Management Plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the site's buildings and grounds to a high standard and in accordance with preservation best practices including the Secretary of the Interior's standards;
- Manage site vegetation to support safety and authentic and effective site interpretation;
- Supervise other maintenance staff and/or maintenance contractors;
- Keep walkways and grounds safe and clear of trash, debris, snow and/or ice; keep trails clear and in usable condition;
- Serve as a friendly face and eyes and ears of the site, greeting visitors and providing basic information to guests when asked; light site interpretation duties possible based on areas of experience
- Address problematic visitor behavior; call OHC security and/or law enforcement as needed;
- Complete training on all major equipment and maintain to industry standards. Complete CSAW (Chainsaw Safety Awareness that Works) within one year of hire;
- Complete building custodial work and/or supervise other staff/contractors to complete these tasks;
- Assist with upkeep of interior spaces including cleaning, repairing, and other tasks as needed;
- Coordinate with maintenance staff from other sites to address issues that require additional personnel and/or expertise;
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- A degree in parks management or equivalent years of relevant experience;
- Demonstrated 2-3 years' experience supervising maintenance of grounds and buildings at historic sites or parks;
Required Competencies:
- Effective communication and collaboration skills;
- Ability to maintain a professional, calm demeanor;
- Strong planning and task scheduling skills;
- Effective at prioritizing tasks and executing them in a timely manner.
