We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our Holistic Dental Practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office while providing exceptional care to our patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a sterile environment to promote optimal patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take X-rays, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Utilize 3D scanners for impressions as needed in various procedures.
- Support the front office with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when required.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental technology and techniques to enhance patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with DENTRIX software for managing medical records is a plus.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile working environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in general dentistry.
