Job Title: Group Home DSP Manager
Department: Direct Support Staff (DSP)
Reports To: Program Director/Administrator
Location: Akron Ohio Area
Position Summary:
The Group Home DSP Manager oversees the daily operations of the group home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for residents. The manager is responsible for supervising direct support staff, maintaining compliance with state and agency regulations, and promoting the highest quality of care for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise, train, and mentor Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
- Schedule staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage for the group home.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide performance feedback.
- Address staff concerns and mediate conflicts effectively.
Resident Care
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
- Oversee the implementation of individualized service plans (ISPs) and ensure residents’ goals are being met.
- Promote independence, skill-building, and community integration for residents.
- Address residents’ concerns and maintain effective communication with their families or guardians.
Compliance and Record Keeping
- Ensure the group home complies with all applicable state, federal, and agency regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, including incident reports, medication logs, and staff timesheets.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives.
Operational Management
- Monitor the physical condition of the home and ensure proper maintenance.
- Order and manage supplies and resources for the home.
- Coordinate appointments, transportation, and activities for residents.
- Ensure proper administration and documentation of medications.
Qualifications:Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a group home or similar setting.
- Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus.
Skills and Competencies

Requirements
