CNC Machine Operator

Job Title: CNC Machine Operator – Class 2

Reports to: Shop or Shift Foreman

Direct Reports: None

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Manufacturing

Job Description – Ability to Load and run CNC Machine, inspect & document parts, de-burr, skid or box and deliver to next operation.

Duties:

1. Basic set up and operation of CNC machine and basic machine parameters.

2. Perform “First Piece Article” inspections and document part dimensions per engineering drawings and specifications.

3. Input time, material, quantity produced into ERP software.

4. Understanding of Company quality program.

5. Perform and document routine maintenance on machine as directed.

6. Keep machine and work area clean, neat and orderly.

7. Runs secondary operations on other machines when required or time allows.

8. De- tab and de-burr parts with grinders and sander.

9. Reports any discrepancies to immediate supervisor.

10. Wear safety equipment and follow all safety rules and procedures as required and directed.

11. Other duties maybe required as assigned.

Skills:

1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

2. Ability to use and care for precision measuring equipment and tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other tools and gauges

3. Knowledge of both metric and inch measuring systems.

4. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

5. Operate a lift truck (license).

Education/Training:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
